Halloween & how mine was ruined by The Arena

My 1st Halloween experience was way back in 2008 and it was superb. Probably because I had on a fabulously cute witch outfit; one which I had been lemming for since ages.

I went without expectations since it was my first time but I had ended up having the time of my life. My bestie, June accompanied me despite being ill and she got to borrow my brand new Sergent Sexy costume. We had the costumes, the props so all we had to do was to just go out & have fun.

And boy, did we have a smashin' good time over at Zouk and then St James.
We even bumped into Gingy!! And I absolutely adore gingerbreadmen... Especially one as cute as Gingy!

The following year; 2009... Seeing how much fun we had, my guy & friends were convinced in dressing up for Halloween. It was a bash at Zouk again, and this time we saw a lot of babes and less monsters.

I went as a menacing pirate and so was my partner in crime; June.
Apart from ghouls which really spooked the freak outta her....

We also bumped into her all-time favorite childhood cartoon carebears.

And if you were thirsty, you might head over to have some orange juice :)

Nearing the end of the night, I figured that being a pirate was simply too tiring.
Especially with battles to hold against those do-gooders that are intend on saving the world.

I decided to be the ultimate villian; the devil itself!

Come this year, 2010, everything was in a mess.
As I'm busy with my wedding preps, I didn't even have time to plan my costume.

Thanks Belle for helping me get my outfit which II'd previously wanted to go as Little Bo Peep. But I didn't have time to shop for or make a staff. Nor did I have time to grab a lamb plush toy to go as Mary with the Little Lamb... So I went as a murdered beer wench.
It was a beer wench outfit to begin with afterall ...

My guy's friends brought along some fake blood so I thought I gave it a try.
The only interesting creature I spotted that night amidst the numerous dead brides and french maids was Princess Fiona from Shrek the Movie!

But baby's shaky hands ruined my only favorable memory of that night... :(
And as if that wasn't bad enough, we had our Halloween experience further dampened all thanks to The Arena.
The Arena is a club at Clarke Quay, Singapore, they pride themselves to be the biggest R&B, Hip Hop Club in Singapore. However, their level of service is beyond standards; till it's so embarrassing.
My guy had spoken to the club manager to reserve a table but when his friends reached the club, they claimed that there was no such booking under his name. We tried to call the manager but he did not pick up any of my guy's calls. Being the usual easy-going guy he is, my guy simply let the matters rest.

However, I take Halloween pretty seriously. We spend the time, money and effort to dress up, thinking we have a table reserved and we could avoid the queue because we had a guest list but  to only be disappointed upon  reaching the venue without any form of apology or compensation from the culprit(s) is simply ridiculous.

And though the issue is most likely resolved because he knows someone in the higher management there and have already spoken to about this issue. I am still unhappy about the time I wasted waiting outside the club. My guy said it's probably some form of miscommunication. What a lousy, lame excuse.

Maybe this is why I don't even bother going to the Arena at all. It has been at least a year since I last went there and I had totally forgotten about its existence till my guy told me about the reserved table there. Trust me, I rather be out partying at Zirca, Rebel if I'm over at Clarke Quay. If anyone from the management team of The Arena reads this, make sure you do not commit such a boo-boo again as it's really utterly embarrassing. Such service coming from a club which prides itself to being the biggest R&B, Hip Hop Club in Singapore. Please... don't make me laugh.
